Well my wife has NO energy. She can be up and around, physically active and she is so wore out in 5-10 minutes that if she does not get down she will fall down. It has quite an effect on her. She can sit up pretty well and lay down just fine but up and around she she does not do well at at all. Like I said the doctors (3 of them) say she has Pheochromocytoma, an adrenal gland problem. They have not been able to any tumor yet but are going to check again in a couple months. FRUSTRATING!

I'm sorry to here that. My mom has been going through something similar. THey now know she has something similar to TB but its a bacterial infection that can be treated but they are not sure how. Its like the doctors are just guessing! I hope everything goes better for your Mrs.. Yes, larger hone= get'er done.

Personally I think the bigger hones are better. You can get a full length "Shaving" type stroke on the majority of blades with a bigger hone. What I mean is if you have an 8 inch blade and try sharpening on a 6 inch hone, you have to slide the blade along the long axis of the blade instead of trying to slice a section from the hone as is normally done in sharpening on a bench hone.

Thanks how weird is it that the 11.5 inch is 59 dollars and the 10.5 inch is 87. Is the extra 14 bucks worth it to get the 11.5 inch hone versuse the 8" hone?

My reason for the 8x3 stones were, they are a standard size in sharpening stones so they are "familiar, and its the only size in DMT benchstones that you can get all the grit.
