Mine is not an infection, just sinus problems. Never had that problem before going to Japan. Some parts of that place around the Tokyo area are so bad when you drive throught them it actually causes your eyes to burn! THAT can't be good on your lungs or sinus.

I know this will sound sick but I've known several people to snort a heavy concentration of salt water up their nose. They claim that when the pain stops it helps!

I have family there (not politically involved) and my cousins were jumped out of school for two days because it was unhealthily polluted, I remember going there... I didn't think it was bad, but I was a young lad with lots of energy, my parents hated it

I get this mess every year at the first good cold snap. Never figured out why, but it messes up my deer season about every year. Don't even get to hunt some years.

I've spent time in the Philippines, and S. Korea and believe you me, there are some places that are JUST like they depict on Television. Open sewers running down the side or middle of the roads/allyways people squatting to go to the bathroom whereever they may be and kids playing in/around all that. It's a wonder MORE people don't get sick/die from conditions like that.

Overkill, I was down the road from Tehran in the late 70s. But, like you, I was a little guy and didn't notice anything up with the air quality.
