Sounds like a plan. So I am going to buy a canoe here shortly so I can fish alot more this summer. Look at a Gheenoe... You can google it... the are like a canoe but they have a flat transom for a motor, but unlike a flat backed canoe, they also rather wide and have a sculptured bottom. This prevents them from flipping as easily as a canoe. Buddy of mine had one with an old 15HP outboard motor on it. He is a rather large man, and could stand on the gunnel and it would not tip over. Amazing boats, cost a little more though but good for fishing if you are think along the lines of a canoe. a link for the halibut: http://www.gheenoe.net/Doc

Tell you what, for fishing, its great....for paddling not so much. It is kinda wide bottomed. Makes you have to reach out to paddle.. But I am a large fellow too, and yet my buddy and I managed to bass fish out of his and not put each other into the river. Not that I mind getting swamped, I just don't want all my gear or beer on the bottom in the muck, or floating downstream.
