That's where I got my 3 day pack. I've never had on a more comfortable pack. Sure is a lot different than the external framed Boy scout pack I had when I went to Philmont way back in 1968! Canvas and aluminum, the shoulder straps would kill you no matter how you had them adjusted. The ONLY thing that helped was the waist belt.

Ordered a MOLLE II ruck setup with a gen IV frame last night. Was only $60, so not a huge deal if it's a POS. I gotta figure if its what they are issuing to our troops it can't be totally bad. Guess that's faulty logic though.

You've got a few years on me SH, but packs were not comfortable when I was at scout camp either. That and they never really held together all that well.

I remember we had the "Three Shake" rule for campouts. Your gear needed to be put together in such a way that it could survive being turned upside down and given three hard shakes my any other scout. There was usually a lot of repacking right before we hit the road and a lot of angry scouts <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
