when i bow hunted i used finger release and simple sight pins
72lbs draw and shot 2219 easton aluminum arrows with muzzy broadheads (125 grain iirc)

I think it has became popular. Most people are hunting with firarms. They used to hunt city-rabbits in Helsinki with bows but I think they are now using traps.

rifle hunting is way more popular than bow hunting here
it is illegal to hunt with pistols in Canada

Bows are so quiet that it´s easier to hunt in areas with lots of people around with them.

I bow hunt because it is a month long season and not many slob hunters bother to bow hunt.

Ours is a seperate season as well.

when our local bow range closed down and i moved to a subdivision my practice time went down to almost nothing.
not fair to the animal if i can't assure a clean kill

in BC there is no requirement for blaze orange even during rifle season, how about your area

I no longer practice year round but I hit it hard during the summer. I have never taken an animal at more than 20 yards though.
