we won't even talk about my old reel to reel player I almost went there... just never came across the right one. but I have a friend that's all bou the tape. I did some transfers to disc a few years ago. a customers brother had passed and left a bunch of songs on a reels. his wish came in and had me transfer them to disc as a b-day present. I always liked doing that kinda stuff.

I was trying to make a joke out of what you said, something that should have been thrown out. Once again not being able to hear only see the written word, it fell short. I thought you were going to ask is that why she keeps me around

i like analog sound for what it is. more character... digital music production took away may of the artifacts that some people had gotten used to. even the pops and clicks or hiss of a tape cassette. it's sort of like adding flourescent lights to a room. you may seem more in the room but it also screws with the ambience and reveals that big spot on the carpet that previously sat in the shadows. YUP, on the music AND the stain!

I guess I am different, I prefer digital over tapes and records. As a kid we did our best to get rid of that extra noise, and now as adults many year for it again

Yup on filtering out the noise on the albums or cassette tapes, but there were always SOME noise there and I guess like was said, we got used to it and finally grew to accept it and finally to wish we had at least SOME of it back.

Some of those old c&w 78's can be quite funny to listen to. My dad was a real fan of the old stuff Hank Williams and Wilf Carter are still his favorites

The 4 tracks were like the old 8 tracks, same type of holder and everything.
