Oh and Yeah flux, the Judge is a pretty nice revolver, big but for it's designated function it wouldn't be bothersome.

Oh and PLUS the fact that it will shoot 45LC is a BIG selling point in my book.

I don't know much about guns. What are some other good guns in each category, rifle, AR, pistol, shotgun, etc. when I get outta dodge I'll be going on a gun spending spree!

since you listed all the catagories, here are my picks which doesn't really amount to anything. You want an experts advice, PM Architect.

Ok
1. Rifle: a good quality,dependable 22rimfire. Most folks recommend the Ruger 1022.

2. AR: the only one I can comment on is the Colt AR15, but arguably there are others out there that are just as good or better. 223 caliber (5.56).

3. Pistol: AT LEAST 9mm and up from there, 357, 40S&W, 45acp etc. BUT give consideration to an easy to find caliber in a TEOTWAWKI aftermath. Popular consensus is either 9mm or 45acp. (if you can you might want to include a 22 here as well, as a second handgun)

4. Shotgun a good, dependable 12gauge, Pumps usually have a simpler operation, just pump and pull the trigger, repeat. BUT now days the autoloaders are really coming on strong.

Bottom line, find what you like and are comfortable with and go with that.

Ir doesn't matter if you got the ultimate one shot will kill a thousand Zombies weapon, if you don't like it or are not comfortable with it you will NOT be able to use it to YOUR highest potential.
