Bruce, my thinking may be real off base here, but here it is.

As a Righty(me too) if you held the knife in the right hand, the spine would be against your hand and the bevel would be facing down. Just insert it under what you want to pry and this would elevate the blade upward. Then just push down. Now if you wanted to pry UP with it, yeah it would be sorta hazardous for a righty. BUT if you're prying I would think I would have it in the sheath anyway.

I am fairly certain the bevel in the first pic is going away from you.

Bruce, YUP. Looks to me like the bevel (the actual angle cut) is on the same side as the logo in the first picture.

If I had to pry something and was wearing the sheath, I'm sure I will be in too much of a hurry (lazy) to remove it to use it as a handle. And with the wrong hand at that. I can see the splinter report at work now. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

I don't think would be too much of an issue with small prying tasks. Like pulling large box staples or even small pieces of wood. I wouldn't want to use it for jobs requiring anything close to straining though. It definitely looks like something I would use in a pinch.
