I sent a PM to Renee, asking her to check with Dan about the lines, and then get back to us.

I haven't seen anything...but I did snag this from the Rodent 9 posting:

"Our Ultra Convex Bevel is a mere 1 degree off flat, CNC bevel, that rises to within less than 5/16" from the spine." Pair this with the picture of the Rodent 9, and it appears the slightly convex grind that Dan originally spoke of on the 511 may very well be this UCB that is advertised on the Rodent 9. The blade looks to have similar milling lines...or, UCB's.

The chief cause of unhappiness and failure is trading what you want most in life for what you want at the moment.

That makes sense. Now I just got to get used to the idea of making knives that way.

fastcamo posted this "Those lines were introduced by Busse, they have corrugated flats on it. Its a series of narrow grooves, cut out below the center line, parallel to the edge, giving the blade structural strength and lightening it at the same time. It can help cut some materials and also have some materials stick to it."

It makes sense and reminds me of the lines on the Busse Jack Hammer only more and closer together.

Plus I like the way it looks.

I will agree with Fastcamo on this one. they are not milling line or a process to help hold the coating on although its a sound thought. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Must be proprietary information. Those who know aren't talking. Those who are talking don't know.
