My wife studied arts in Hungary once and she told that they fried lard on a frying pan like we do with sausages. We thought that was weird. Young people did that too!

Maybe the cult thing is because it´s something a bit exotic from your point of view? Mora is made in a distant northern country by Swedish blade wizzards with their special steel recipes and magical hammers... Or something like that? When i was growing up most boys got one of those old red wooden handled moras as their first fixed blade. Mainly because they were cheap and not bad quality. I've broken a number of them when younger (yes abusing them, but I know what they can do) I think the anti China feelings in the USA help the mora myth Altough we have our own puukko´s here Mora is considered to be a proper blade ( again for the price ). I think Mora might have a better quality control than the Chinese in general. Especially the laminated blades of the Mora have been respected here. i think some chinese factories have good quality control, it depends on the customer Bryd knives are an example, but yes for a while China was all bad, BUT I am old enought to remember when made in Japan meant junk Like I said moras are good knives at an affordable price but they are not great knives If stuck in the woods with only a mora I would feel adequately equipped

We've got a state trooper that will announce over his radio for "Anyone in radioland that wants a deer, one was just killed at XXXXX" Never takes more than 10-15 minutes for someone to show up for the deer.
That's right. We eat ROADKILL too!

Haha, you would probably have to guy two seats to get back though. Southern cooking is not known as being diet food!

Bill, I remember when Made In Japan was what you looked for in a television, but not much of anything else. Taiwan was also known for junk, and China and Korea weren't even mentioned because they weren't big manufacturers.

Bill, if I sent you some livermush and you fried it up nice and crispy, you'd love it. You make a sandwich with it, throw a little mustard and onions on it, and throw it down.
