From what I see from the inside, we are doing OK. Financially the country has issues (that is another topic). But, we are doing great. the kids joining are as patriotic as ever and if anyone attacks us again, we have nothing to worry about. These kids are giving a commitment,

I am VERY glad to hear that. I guess it's just because of all the ones we are used to seeing I tend to lean that direction toward all of them and that's not really fair, just the way things go many times.

So, I have worked on both sides of the news (government propaganda vs government analyst). I can tell you not to believe either wholeheartedly. My best advice to you, (I am not trying to make myself out as a messiah), is to watch all the news channels to SEE the truth.

I don't mean watch Fox plus CNN plus what ever US channel is available, watch the foreign ones too. Al Jazera, BBC and you name it, but those two will open your eyes. Yes they are driven by an agenda just like the ones you watch.

I do watch Fox mostly, but also CNN. What I meant by my above statement is the ones we see HERE at the Sheriff's office and the problems in schools. From what I have seen and read, the kids today that are in the Military are mostly very set in protecting our way of life, even if they may not agree with it all the time, just like it was when I was in.

I agree. I think. There is a lot of hubub about our kids these days, the one I see, (i see alot too) are OK.

We (the Marine Corps) paid a boat load of money recently to conduct a poll. What we found was that most of the kids from 13-25 years old put a lot of respect toward public/community service. 70 percent said it is what will make the United States survive. When asked what is public service? 88 percent said Humanitarian/disaster relief and put war fighting and law enforcement second. I think that is a good thing. But, according to my CO, I'm liberal.

I would think many would consider LE and FD under community service jobs but wouldn't (at least to me) think that the military falls under the community service umbrella. To me, community service denotes a CIVILIAN type service or as stated law enforcement and fire.

I am going to stop spreading my personal propaganda, even if it is backed by studies ( which we both know stats are worth a piss in a buck).
