I didn't see a lot of his earlier stuff, but Big Jake had both John Wayne and Richard Boone in it. Two of my all time favorites.

I remember watching Richard Boone as Paladin and later on as A Western Detective.

Big Jake is a great one, Richard Boone was always a bad guy except in Paladin or so it seemed to me. My boss calls me Chester from gunsmoke, he's a funny son of a bitch. A good John Wayne flick was Brannigan plus who could ever forget The Green Beret.

I know he had some great parts over the years, but Big Jake remains my favorite. Rio Lobo was pretty good, as was the Green Berets. And of course True Grit. The Shootist was another pretty good one too. Notice I picked later stuff. I didn't see a lot of the stuff he shot in the 40's and 50's.

I just learned something new and quite awesome. A little embarrassed I didn't know this before, but quite tickled about knowing it now

The Gadsden flag used by the Continental Marines as an early motto flag. It was the first flag ever carried into battle by the United States Marine Corps, during the American Revolution.

I've thought about having that flag tattooed on my arm. Sounds a lot like my way of thinking.

I always liked the flag, but not until a few moments ago when I found out it was the Marines' first flag did i think about putting it in my skin.
