I used a modified "butt pack" in a similar way for years... !

Got one of them as well. But the 511 bag has multiple compartments and you don't just throw everything into one big compartment.

Randy, I've got the slightly bigger version of Fat Boy called E.D.C.
It has a pocket for a bottle and looks about the size of your 511 bag

I was going to get that or maybe even the Jumbo, but I found the 511 for a LOT less and it works for me,at least for now. Once Patty is able to get out and about again, I may let her have the 511 and probably get me the Jumbo.

I would like to be able to carry water, cooking set and a meal or two all in one bag and still have some room for a few other things as well.

I use Kodiak for day bag in bush. 711/TGLB/Chopweiler fits in nicely in the back or main compartments... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
