Hehe, yeah it was fun. I was mad at the system at the time and wanted to get back of them.
A two stripper had a child die in Alaska. A two year old in Omaha needed a heart, there was a match. The AF flew the Airman and his wife along with the child (being kept "alive" by artificial means) in to make the transplant.
When the procedure was finished the poor kid and his wife couldn't afford to go all the way home to N.C. to bury their child and asked the AF to fly them there. The AF, (well the commanding General at SAC) said NO.
Well the above stated LtCol and I were working that night and this made us both VERY mad. He tried all way to the 4 Star, no deal.
Well It just so happened that the story and the refusal accidently <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> some how got "Leaked" to the press. Two days later the Airman, his wife and their child were in N.C. at no expense to them. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
I felt sorry for the LtCol, he was reprimanded for his "Interference", and He figured this would happen, but did it any way. He was a good man.
