Election day is coming. Let's see if the people have any spines left.

Or Brains. So many will vote a straight ticket. In my personal opinion that is WRONG! Voting should be for the person or persons and what they say is their beliefs, NOT on what party they belong to.

I am a registered Republican. But I ONLY vote a straight ticket then that is the only option and even then I still don't believe in it. I believe ALL people running should be on just one ballot and you choose who you want, not a party.

So true. Already have my choices picked out. This is the first year my son will get to vote for a president. He's asked my opinion but I told him he has to make his own choices.

You can give your reasons and have intelligent discussions about the candidates, but yes, he should be allowed to make up his own mind.

I really wish they had a selection for "None of the Above" and then the parties would have to go back and pick new candidates.

After my Republican statement I think that I need to say again, I WILL vote for republicans, democrats and independents.

He's a smart kid. I've had him read the candidates positions on the issues and to choose who he thinks will do the best job.

Nothing wrong with stating WHY you think a certain candidate(S) are the better choice, but there shouldn't be any pressure to vote a certain way, even though it may be quite difficult to "Hold your tongue".

I've never told my children what to do. I have given my opinion but I've always told them the decision is their's to make. They have made some wrong decisions over the years but I've never been one to tell them "I told you so". I believe children should be guided not controlled.
