My Dad has a killer stove he built out in his garage and man will that thing burn and put out some heat once you get it going.
He also built a smaller cook type stove I guess you would say. it is a steel rectangular box about a foot and a half long and maybe about 10 inches wide and about 10 tall. It will really heat as well and he has it on wheels and it's about 3 1/2 ft tall. He made it so you can cook directly on the top for eggs, bacon or what ever but most of the time he will put a skillet on top of it and he has also used it to can on. Heating up what he is canning and then heating the filled jars.

It's just not large enough, doesn't have enough mass (surface area) to heat up a space. Oh it would work for a small room, but it would have to be a small one.
