I think back to some of the old lee Enfield sport models I owned and sold off
Very much the scout concept if you mounted a long eye relief scope on it

Here is the only way I have found to mount traditional optics and keep the ghost ring.

Just finished bringing back to life two more FAL's yesterday. One beautiful pristine numbers matching STG kit that looked like it had never been fired.
The second build was an Imbel kit that I pieced together from parts I had in the parts bin. Both builds used NOS 2001 Imbel receivers and each head-spaced at .257
Gotta love an Imbel receiver !

Spendy these days.. Imbel receiver is gonna be around $500 after all fees and shipping. Imbel kits are going between $475-$575

The STG kit will set you back around $900 if you can find one.

10 years has played hell on those prices...!!! $199 Imbel Receivers, $200 for a Gr1 kit... or how about the $99 G1 kits...!!!! StG Kits were what back then....??? Enough to make you cry now.... !!!
