Ok yes nothing but good on the pre Remington Marlins but I didn't want to spend that kind of ching on my first lever as I wasn't sure I would like it so I went with the Rossi. Is yours the stainless? Those are super sexy.

I think it was around 98 or 99 and it has the Ballard rifling instead of microgroove.
Its an heirloom rifle. Which sounds odd considering how nad they are now with remington in charge and how nad they got when everyone thta was making them knew they were losing their jobs.

Mine is blued. I don't think they made a stainless when I bought mine.
Its too bad about the quality control now. I actually like the pistol grip design. XLR I think.

I have only seen a few of the pre rem. ones up for sale and they brought 2 to 3 times what a new marlinton is. You definitely have a keeper in that one. Do you have any pics?

I would like to see some sometime now that I have owned one and know I love them I would like to someday get a pre rem. Marlin, in 45 long colt would be ideal but any I can find at a good price will work. I think my next lever may be the Rossi Rio Grande in .410 I really like the idea of a lever shot gun.

Actually any of the pistol caliber levers would be great, I would need a double action revolver in the same caliber of course.
