Our local post office is a different story. We live outside a town with a population of 780 so when we go into the post the Post Master knows us by sight, and goes back to get our packages without so much as asking our names. On occasion, she's even put a post-it on our mail to pass along a message, LOL.

Our mail delivery lady does a good job. Its 1.4 miles round trip from the road (where our mail box is located) back to our house on a very rough private gravel road. She has to make that trip more often than she probably wants. However, she always gets out and talks to us about our chickens, garden, fruit trees, whatever project we're working on that day. She's even offered to stop by the house on her way home if she tries to deliver a "signature required" item during a day we're not home.

Small towns have charm.
