Over the summer I saw a Brunton 1.5-5x20 that was marked pretty low compared to the mark. I think it was $139 on a particular website. The lower model actually got half decent reviews and was also on sale for around $80. I tossed the idea of trying one around for a couple weeks but when I went to buy one they had changed the website and moved the stuff to eBay the day before. So when I called they said I had to buy it off eBay and $189 was the best they could do. Too rich for my blood.. so here we are a few months later and on the same site has the same scope for $70. So I just ordered one. They are $200 pretty much everywhere else. I figure it's worth a try.
The thing is, from my understanding Brunton no longer makes/distributes scopes and will only warranty scopes with proof of purchase from before they quit. I actually looked through one at a lgs and it wasn't that bad. Only sonny thing was that they had "Brunton" written inside the lense below the reticle. I hope that it was just a display model and not the way they do all of their scopes. But I'm thinking it's worth a shot.
