It all depends on if your jaws are big enough to accomodate them or not. If there is not enough room they will push your other teeth forward or out of alignment if not coming in crooked too. Now tonsils and snorkel snipping on the other hand are definitely more of a religious thing unless done for a medical problem.

At least getting wisdom teeth removed with anesthesia takes a little bite out of the whole ordeal.
