I think I will use my knives until the epoxy gets worn and ratty looking then strip them down. I will either give it a nice satin polish, a gun blue or a nice guncoat. My pals Chris Reeve Neil Roberts has one of the nicest coated finishes I have ever seen, I believe it is some kind of guncoat but a really nice one.
I don't like Parkerizing though. It was done on milsurps because it was much cheaper and they could do it in big batches.
Paraordance a canadian company that makes high end .45(most of which are illegal in canada) has an amazing proprietary coating that would be awesome on a knife.
I am not sure whether blueing will work on Scrapyard knives. If it works well you have a beautiful traditional protective coating that you can touch up easily at home. I think the amount of cromium in the steel may make blueing impossible.
I blued two Enfield mags from different manufactures and one came out rich and perfect and the other the blueing rolled off like water on plastic.
