58-60 RC is a fairly common range for a lot of custom makers to run 1095, I think toughness is the last thing I'll be worrying about. Not that I'd be surprised if they don't end up a little softer. The KaBar BK2 is 56-58 by some sources, 58-60 by others, but a freaking tank by all. I'm looking forward to running this next to some ESEE and Becker blades. And next to the BG ASH-1. And seeing what Andy has to say about the comparison with the INFI ASH-1. And .. touching it. Calling it dirty names then saying I was just kidding. Just because it's TRASHy doesn't mean I can't respect it in the morning.

I kinda want to drink the kool-aid and go for the CG SOB- I'm just not sure I see the benefit to price point. I really want to jump on a Fiddleback production Camp knife if I can find a reasonable price to get it modded for the hidden lanyard. And it would just be weird not to order Battle Horse Knives monthly special. Aaaaaand Survive! needs more of my money for about 4 more preorders (seriously, have you guys seen the specs on the GSO-12?!?!?!?!). That being said I can easily see all of that being passed over for a couple more weeks for a 2nd TRASH-1. I won't need a second, and I won't keep a safe queen, but I'm stoked enough to want to put my money where my mouth is and support this release as much as my meager wallet can.

The price point looks good. The design is obviously solid. I don't even hate that it has a choil, it's right at that weird medium size where I can take or leave one. The only thing I don't care for too much is that the choil is square. I don't understand the thought process. My finger isn't perfectly round, but it darn sure isn't square. The choil on the 411 made me not love what was otherwise perfect, the square choil torpedo'd it for me.
