We'll select our firearms based upon the situation.

We chose to keep a 10/22TD in my pack because if we're forced to run out of our house with only enough time to grab one thing it'll be my pack containing a reliable and accurate rifle with 550rds of ammo as well as two knives, fire/shelter/food/water, etc.

I would NOT want to get in a firefight with a 22LR. However, I do like the ability to carry 550rds of ammo with me while only sacrificing a little weight.

My pack looks civilian (standard hiker's pack). This allows for a "grey man" approach.

In a real catastrophic situation where we're having to fight to survive and therefore don't care if we look militant...ideally I'd have time to couple my pack with my plate carrier and a real fighting rifle (FN Scar, LWRC Individual Carbine, Colt AR15, etc).
