I've owned several Gen 3 S&W in 9mm, 40SW, 45ACP and 10MM. They were good guns. I particularly like the 1006 (full size 10MM). Stainless frame and stainless slide = tank but it also soaked up recoil.

There are definitely "more advanced" options today but not many with stainless frames. I was very pleased when Sig started selling limited stainless framed P-200 Classic guns again.
