I have a Mini-14 with an ARS heavy barrel. It is not quite as accurate as either of my Ar-15s, but much better than it was. I agree that the modified Garand action is more reliable than Stoner's design. I have read that Ruger has redone the Mini-14 series and improved accuracy. They are nice little rifles.
