I've never handled a Badger. So I cannot comment there. However, I do have experience with both the DM and RMD. If I had to choose one I'd go with the RMD.

The RMD is much thinner allowing for much easier cutting. Cutting, after all is the primary purpose of a knife. At 3/16 of an inch it's still plenty stout for batoning. And it's full size handle makes it comfortable to use. In addition the brass pins and lanyard hole make lashing the knife easier if you needed to make a spear.

The DM will chop better than the RMD. However, neither one chops especially well. And the DM will pry better than the RMD. However, I've never needed to use a knife to pry. The downside to the DM is in its ability to cut as well as the RMD.
