Some motors can be set up with a speed controller.

I know there are special speed controler for routers. But, I haven't yet figured out all of the specifics yet for which type of motors can be controlled. Apparently, not all can be.

I am not an electrician. I can wire a house and most basic switches, outlets and simple electronics, but I haven't figured out everything electric yet.

I would like to be able to control the speed of my belt sander.

That would help with flexibility for me.

Maybe your old motor can be set up that way (????).
