Actually the difference between the Lansky and the grinder is very big.
I do some edges on the grinder but it only takes a couple hours to get it perfect on the lansky while I watch TV. I can have some control over belt speed by using 2 or 3 wheels and longer belts for slower speeds. I often use short fast belts for stock removal and longer ones for finer grits.
