actually from what i've seen compared to some other knives sr77 will chop/tear easier(but still under extreme extreme abuse) than some knives, but unlike ll of them, it doesn't cause catostrophic damage to the blade AT ALL.
so even if it was a chip, you can just forget about it and eventually it will sharpen out.
