I'm certainly not "in the loop", but the initial release of the Dumpster Mutt was at a substantial introductory discount. I'd have loved to have picked up a few at that price, but I was too late. So, I don't think that the DMLE/DM price ratio accurately reflects how much markup to expect on a DFLE.

Not that it'll happen, but I think that it would be very good if Dan could provide an estimate how much a DFLE would sell for before tooling up to produce them. I'd also like for an estimate to be provided for a DFCG re-release, and a poll of the yard taken to see which one folks would really prefer. That's a great departure from typical Busse-family marketing, but it seems to me that it could help Dan gauge how much demand there is.

I'm not a knife maker, but I do consider myself to be a somewhat creative sort, and personally, it would be a source of great frustration to me if I had made what I thought would be a big hit in the DMLE, only to have people complain as much as they have about it. I understand and even agree with many of the criticisms, but if you don't like it, don't buy it. I bought a couple, even though I didn't need them because I'd bought 5 RMDs, simply because I think that they're better the original DM, and DMLEs sold for about the same as DMs were on the secondary market.
