Pat Metheny was also a student with my buddy at Berkley in MA. Their teacher was Mick Goodrick. Mick made a solo album, and played on a few other's. The two best and really show's him playing are from Irresistible Forces and Audio-Visualscapes, there under Jack DeJohnnette's Special Edition group. Very hard to find on CD. The band smokes. If you are into Jazz/Fusion you will understand this stuff, otherwise it just might go over your head.
