they take abit to break in but you can take the finish off, soak them in water for a few hours then walk around in them till they dry
or you can do what I did, walk up a creek for a few hours then invest in a moleskin factory <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

O btw, they are not waterproof
after you wear them for a few months your feet will be so fit that you can rub sandpaper on the for hours and not get blisters and who needs dry socks
