Also the bow and muzzleloading season starts sooner which seems to be a prime motivator for some people. I have met guys who are as into hunting and have it occupy as much time and energy as a wolf does. You would think they would not get to eat otherwise. I know a guy who has a BIG chunk of land in the middle of farmland Saskatchewan and now that he has one of those wildlife cams he knows those deer intimately. He actually manages the herd on his land by picking out what deer to harvest.
I would love a crossbow but since I already have an OK bow I will at least try to get better with it.
I need a good carry bag for it on the quad though.
I actually have the quad and truck all loaded up and ready to head out to the bush tomorrow.
I am going to also do a comparative review of my old and new bushcraft knives the SS$ and the SBT. The names are not the only similarity as both the Street Scrapper 4 and the Skookum Bush Tool are exactly the same size and shape. Both good tool steel with A2 and INFI. Both are zreo edges although the SS4 is modded with a rough satin finish and zero edge while the SBT is a skandi.
The HCLE and Mora Clipper also quite similar but stainless and the HCLE comes with a secondary edge.

Just from holding them I can tell the SS4 has the advantage ergonomically.
