... Frustrating that 'quick draws' buy multiple copies, denying many others from obtaining any, and turning around and making a killing on the secondary market because that's the only option...
Not all of us make a killing on the secondary market. Some of us just hoard them like dwarven gold in preparation for the collapse of civilization or when the zombies come a callin. Seriously though, except for the last DCDM sale, releases have always been announced days ahead of time. Thus far, I've never missed getting my order in; I've made it a priority to be at my computer, with an email ready to send, waiting for the GO post. Barring power outages, if you're more than a minute late, then your priorities were elsewhere. I'm not judging you or anybody else who misses a release, but I'm a bit irritated that so many judge me harshly for buying more than one or two blades.

Jim,

How did that comment apply to you? If that comment doesn't apply to you, why are you being defensive about it?

What I don't understand Jim is why you would have a problem with others being able to get the knives with this new system.

If all you are doing is hording, this system still allows you to hord and buy all you want and nobody should have any reason to complain with Dan's new system.

This system should be good enough for all except investors and better for most except for investors.

With Dan's plan, "Horders" can buy as many as they want without preventing others from opportunity. So, hord all you want and be happy.

But, in the past, with Dog Bowls and limited quantities, whether you sell them for profit or hord many multiples, if there is only a set number of knives available, you have played a part in depriving other fellow Dogs (who we call friends - except at trample time! ) from getting knives they wanted because you hord. Or as you imply: others who might sell for profit.

I can appreciate multiple knives being purchased for many various reasons. I have purchased 2 on multiple occassions and even 3 once. But, I didn't purchase the extras to screw my fellow dogs. I bought to have an extra that I thought I might want. I can further understand some people might buy even more as gifts for family or friends as ligitimate and fair reasons for buying multiples.
But, for anyone wanting multiples as spares or for friends and family, how are they hurt by Dan's new system of taking orders? They can all still get what they want with out taking AWAY from other fellow dogs.

You might not have anything else in life to do at go times. But, many people have to work odd hours or have many other relevent, fair and important obligations in life. Or live in other parts of the world where a good time for a bowl here is a very poor time for a Dog Bowl there.

With Dan's plan to sell by taking orders, it sounds to me like most everybody within a fair and reasonable time should have an opportunity to place their orders.

If you are just wanting to buy "Hords" for yourself, why would you have ANY problems with others being able to have a reasonable and fair chance to purchase knives they want?

If investors want to buy in large quantites when everyone else has a fair and reasonable time and chance to buy, then try to sell later, fine. More power to them.

But, for those who are buying in quantity to resale and jack-up prices at a later date "AND" depriving other fellow dogs from reasonable opportunities to buy at short run/short availibility bowls, screw them..... whoever they are.
