well the DFCG's tip in particular will be able to handle anything you throw at as far as wood is concerned by using body weight and force alone.

i personally have no need to dig into anything.all my camp chores concerning knives consist of chopping,batoning and cutting.in the woods i just never have the need to bore a hole an anything.
