I just thought I'd let you know that MANY have done what banana-clip just did to get their post count up.
Tom has probably done, as have many other JYD's.
for some reason it may bug you...
but it's just a post count.
If someone wants a higher post count, than you shouldn't hold anything against them for it.
You said yourself it's not indicative of anything, and doesn't earn you anything...
so why would you care?
you seem to have a certain negativity about people posting in this thread to try and get their post count up (you call it foolish nonsensical) and continue to post in this thread... (often making cynical and childish comments)
There is no need for it imo.
EMF - you are right, on a certain level, as i implied, it is meaningless, however, it just seems that some of the fellas who have been here forever, have gotten a post count that high by part of contributing to threads in ways other that one or two worded posts... IDK, perhaps you are right, it shouldnt bother me. I just think that post count is indicative, in some ways, of a person's longevity here. for example, it took me over a year to get 1000 posts. i didnt rush to get there. JYD status is something that you get over time, i would posture. i KNOW Jeff, Vic, mac, vance, bld, etc, did get there by frivilous postings of one-lettered words. oh well, its not a big deal i guess. sorry i brought it up.

and emf - childish comments? i would say that repeat postings (4-5) in a row of 1 or 2 lettered posts is "childish." not voicing an opinion on the matter. if it differs from yours, so be it. but for you to say its childish - i think thats "nonsensical" on your part.
