Exactly. The statement was made, "SR77 doesn't get brittle in the cold. At all." Which is what I was saying was silly. ALL steel gets brittle. At least all I know of. It's just that at -40C, SR77's brittleness may not be significantly increased to the point where it's anything to worry about. I was just trying to suppress an exaggeration. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> I'd still be leery of batoning hard, frozen wood at -40C.
Sometimes I think it would be cool to have a reindeer fur coat like the northern Europeans use/d. But they cost a crazy amount, and I don't know anything about how long they last. So.
(For our climate, a beaver fur mantle would be more useful anyway; beaver fur is amazing stuff, if you ever get a chance to handle some)
Is the animal fur actaully better than all the " tech" layeing we have now ? Sorry- my brain went dead trying to remember names like polartec- wind stopper etc. Is very interesing for sure-Thanks
