I've never had a fur garment, though I have handled beaver pelts and have a first hand appreciation for how well those fellows are dressed. Mother sometimes buys old fur coats and makes teddy bears from them, and I've had a chance to handle a few other types of furs like mink, squirrel, fox, etc; and nothing comes close to the beaver as far as something I'd actually wear for protection from the elements. As far as the reindeer, I'm not basing that on anything other than widespread "common knowledge" that it's very very warm and has been used for thousands of years by native peoples in the far north.
