I don't particularly care for the ramp, but I don't hate it either. If you hate it, mod the blade. I read a while back on the Himalayan Imports subforum of BladeForums where several guys were giving grief to another for moding the grips of his khuk. Granted, it had been decoratively carved, but it was too thick for him so he sanded it. Folks said that he defaced the kami's art, but I felt that since he bought it and it didn't feel comfortable to him, then he should feel free to mod it -- if they don't like it, tough, it's not theirs. That mod was one reason I got a good deal on the D-guard when he sold it, and I agree that as thick as the handle still is, it would have been uncomfortable for me too.
