mmm. i draw a distinction between a search and rescue knife and a survival knife. do search and rescue crews use their knives for prying? i would think they know the conditions and circumstances they will encounter and arrive with the right tools for the job.
only speculating. i would still buy something like you described, but i'd prefer a bit thinner stock, possibly mudder gripped, and a sheath option. the sheath is a critical aspect, in my opinion.
still, my suggestions aren't necessary as i already have the orange mora craftsman. great knife with the custom kydex from kiahs.
