The BC SAR knife was fine except for the handle and it was 3/16" blade thickness. Lots of SAR folks from the NW bought it we're told.
The G10 handle made it extremely handle heavy and all the nice handling qualities of a blade that's shaped well but not too long and not too short were lost IMO. Take that same blade shape and put a Res-C/Mudder handle and you'd have a nice knife. Make it too blade heavy and it loses its charm, again IMO. So don't go crazy on the blade thickness please.
