I honestly can't think of a circumstance where I'd choose to defend myself with a knife. A gun . . . even a .22 cal . . . just seems to be a better alternative. But if I had to reach for a SY knife, it would be my S6. The combination of its size, neutral balance and quickness in the hand make it the best tool for the job IMHO.

Im with Bruce on this one about self defense... but i am not sure that is the intent of the OP's question (correct me if im wrong OP). i understood this thread to be asking which SY knife would you take to the grave with you. i.e. - the one you would NEVER part with, ever. under ANY circumstances.
for me that is my s6.
for a knife i would fight with... as bruce said above.... (no need to repeat it) the s6 would be about as good a combat, fighting knife as you are going to find. its light, fast, and tankish.
