The SOD is growing on me. I've used it as a knife, hammer, and can opener already. I'm using the basic generic sheath for it right now, but may invest in kydex later on. I had a Yard Hook for a while, but couldn't get past the hook. The SOD is making me want a Yard Guard. Any of you out there that have both, how do they compare?

Having owned all three SY 7" blades, I can say without a doubt that I prefer my SODLE. They are all fine knives, but the flat ground LE is much easier to get sharp. I have sharpened a few SOD CGs, but never used one. It feels like it was born to chop. I sold my Yard Guard and Yard Hook and got a Camp Tramp. It just worked better for me, and the SOD is much more like the CT than the YG and YH are. I am not at all down on recurves as some are. Some of them are very good choppers, but in my hands the SOD and Camp tramp performed much better than the SY recurves.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.
