It is the essence of simplicity. And it has good, tight belt tension and a very smooth running cone head (Baldor) motor. The only thing I don't like about it is how time consuming it is to install and remove the platen. But I don't do a lot of flat grinding, so I can live with that. I got it for $260 or so delivered, and it came fast. I ordered it from Amazon, but I could have gotten it straight from msc/j&l and got free shipping. I do business with them but did not know they carried it. It is American-made, too.
