Reconseed- as a handy tool, the DMCG is pretty much where its at. With her, I have pried roofing, extracted nails, chopped down a tree, prepped food.. and carried one quite often. I really attribute this blade to the reason why I claim to be a Mutt first, and a Hog second. You can search both forums for my love of the Dmutt.

As for a fighter, many a knife will do, but not many will leave the gaping triangular vortex of doom that this will. It goes in easy, comes out clean, and the gaping hole is significant... and if you twist out... forget about it. It is just blade heavy enough that quick snaps are devastating too.

As for the handle... I can see larger being good for some hands and glove work, but the Busse Basic handle that she has, in my opinion and for my uses, is king. It is slim as heck so carry is basic... but using a Philippino fighting grip (tight pinky/ring, loose middle finger, fairly open pointer), the blade comes alive like no other. The weight disappears and the blade aweakens with speed. This is my number one defensive carry knife... since day one I had her. My DMCG sits hanging below my left armpit, grip down/point up. Homemade Kydex, and a simple paracord figure 8 crosses my back and grabs both shoulders. I can sit it under a T-shirt on hot days, or over with a jacket on cooler days. Ready for anything... she waits.

Rainwalker also made me a nice 'pressure sheath' for my DMLE. The regular belt X on the back, but I specified no button or retention to slow me down,... just blade only, and make it nice and tight... so it wont fall, but when I pull it, it comes clean and fast, with no additional movements needed. Its perfect. (note, the Mustard blue job on her... I bought this LE on the exchange already done up).
