i went with the 7" bravo 2... and its way big honestly when i got it , but when i started using it ... it was near perfect.... but thats me.... im looking at the s5le for my 1 knife... it seams to do about every thing i want it too... and its lighter then about any thing i own...
i honestly do like the thumb ramps.... with a chole i can get balancing grips i rarely cant with any other knife... changing the balance of the blade in my hand... the one person that complained about the thumb ramp on the ddf or the s5 also liked to point using there index finger on the spine... and that freaked me out.... but to each there own ... i have people tell me that a chole has no place on a bush knife.... of course they also told me to just buy a mora and carry it.
Have you tried the Smoke Jumper? I got one from BRKT as a replacement for the VP Bowie I broke. This is a really nice light field knife, slimmer and lighter than the Bravo-2. Blade is 6". Steel is 50100 B (Carbon V, 0170-6C, CroVan, etc). It has that nice handling like the S6. Of course, it isn't as tough, but a nice knife anyway.
