I don't think that I had the DF yet when she ordered the cake... and the DF was a "secret" knife <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> The Ranger was my 1st real quality blade, and of course I sat there fiddling with it all the time, and she took notice of it. I got the Ranger the same day that I got the RTAK, and its been madness since then!
Ranger has come a long way. I have one of their first knives and a friend ordered a custom, mirror polished version. Both RD9's. I have been to his site recently but where are the options for the knives? Everyone is getting different colored handles.
