Speaking of Garands, I had my 12/1943 Springfield out on Sunday for a little action. Oh......I tried to grill bacon once, and set my grill on fire <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />. I lost two pieces of bacon today...one slipped off the grate when I was careless; the other caught fire when I wasn't looking (I was on the phone). I put it out and donated it to my dog, who asked me to burn another piece....
The key to grilling bacon is to keep the fire low (so as to minimize flare ups that will ignite the grease) and to turn often, which allows the pooling grease to be poured off rather than ist there in a flammable pool <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />
