I saw the carbon steel machetes at the Condor booth. Since I already have the bolo and El Salvador in German 420HC, I saw no reason at all to get the carbon steel models. The 420HC steel Condor uses is super tough and works just fine for me. I did get a carbon steel golok, though. While the machetes have 3mm thick blades and weigh about a pound each, the golok weighs about 22 oz. Like SYKCO, Condor offers a lot for the money in their premium quality machetes. But they make nothing to compare to the thicker bladed Scrap Yard knives. That is why I don't see them ever making machetes. There are already several very good brands of those that perform well. But a golok? I think SYKCO could do a killer golok.
